Morgan Stanley Capital Partners is a leading middle-market private equity platform, focusing primarily on North America. Combining the talents of seasoned investment professionals and experienced operating partners, the team seeks to create value by helping companies thrive, compete and grow.

 

Our focus is on value creation through management and operational improvements, value-added oversight, strategic add-on acquisitions and thoughtful capitalization. We invest primarily in control transactions via founder-led recapitalizations, growth equity investments, industry roll-ups, management buyouts, corporate carve-outs and platform builds.

Throughout our history, we have maintained a consistent middle-market focus, investing in companies across a broad range of industries with enterprise values from $200 million to $800 million and EBITDA from $15 million to $60 million.

We have a long history of taking a hands-on approach to managing our portfolio companies. Our Operating Partners, former chief executives and business leaders, are members of the Investment Team and are fully engaged in the due diligence and investment decision-making process, as well as in the oversight of each portfolio company.
Throughout our ownership period, we provide guidance on critical strategic and operational matters, including formulating and directing strategy, raising and allocating capital, and evaluating add-on acquisitions. We also help portfolio companies achieve best practices by seeking to recruit talented executives, designing appropriate incentive structures, and implementing financial controls and governance systems.

As a middle-market private equity investment team with direct access to the capabilities and reputation of a leading global financial services firm, we bring outsized resources to companies to help them thrive within their industries. We believe the Morgan Stanley brand is instrumental in attracting and retaining CEOs, board members, and senior executives whose talent and experience often exceed that which otherwise might be available to middle-market companies.
In addition, we believe that our firm can provide capital markets insights to drive proactive balance sheet management, introductions to potential bolt-on acquisition targets, and proprietary knowledge regarding strategic exit alternatives.
