Morgan Stanley

Recruitment Process

From events to online applications and interviews, understand how our global recruitment process works.

STEP ONE

MEET US ON CAMPUS

We’re looking for bold thinkers to help us build the future. Discover how we’re using capital to create real change in the world—from funding the fashion world to helping creating millions of jobs in China. Join us.

Morgan Stanley professionals will be at your school or hosting off-campus events across Asia from August to April. Our Asia bankers also conduct on-site events in North America and the United Kingdom in October each year. Check with your career services center and student-run organizations for a list of key dates.

STEP TWO

APPLY ONLINE

While the majority of our internships and full-time analyst roles are for penultimate and final year students, some business areas accept applications from students earlier in their university studies for educational programs and employment. You can check the specific job postings for additional information.

STEP THREE

APPLY ONLINE

We accept applications on our careers website. Deadlines vary by division and country, so check online. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible; the Asia Pacific application deadlines are earlier than other regions.

Clearly list your graduation date and current cumulative GPA, and submit a cover letter. We’re looking well-rounded individuals with diverse backgrounds. Don’t just write about your academic achievements, tell us about your interests, experiences, and what makes you unique.

STEP FOUR

ENJOY YOUR INTERVIEW

Some of our divisions deliver testing prior to first-round interviews. First-round interviews may take place on the telephone, via video conferencing or on campus and focus on a combination of technical, competency and motivational questions. Some of our divisions may include language proficiency analysis.

We conduct final-round interviews in person at our offices or on campus. These could be a series of one-on-one talks, technical interviews, and group exercises, depending on the division.

It’s our goal to match the right person with the right job. Let’s create tomorrow, together. Join us.

STEP ONE

MEET US ON CAMPUS

First, check with your career services center and student-run organizations for a listing of dates when Morgan Stanley representatives will be at your school. Make sure to attend our campus events, network with as many of our employees as possible and speak to them about their jobs.

STEP TWO

FIND THE PROGRAM FOR YOU

While the majority of our internships and full-time analyst roles are for penultimate or final-year students, we also offer insight programmes specifically designed for first-year undergraduates (or second-year students on a four-year degree). You can check the specific job postings for more information.

STEP THREE

APPLY ONLINE

To apply, submit your CV and cover letter here as early as you can. We review applications as they are received, and you don’t want to miss out on our application deadlines. Your CV should demonstrate good academic credentials and an actual or expected 2.1 in your degree.

In your cover letter, tell us why you are interested in joining Morgan Stanley and your chosen business area. Depending on which division you're applying, your application can also include several open-ended questions. You may need to take a combination of numerical reasoning, verbal reasoning, logical reasoning tests, and accuracy. We recommend you take some practise tests to familiarise yourself with the format and content of these before you start the real ones. Practice makes perfect!

STEP FOUR

ENJOY YOUR INTERVIEW

If successful, you will be asked to take an initial interview. This first-round interview may be on the telephone, via video conferencing or in person, depending on the division and your location.

The last stage of our selection process usually consists of one-on-one interviews, written tests, an individual presentation and a group exercise.

At Morgan Stanley, it’s our goal to match the right person with the right job. After all, people are our most valuable asset.
