Biography

Tom Torrisi is a Managing Director and serves as the Firm’s Chief Compliance Officer and Deputy Head of Non-Financial Risk. Prior to his appointment, Tom served as the CCO for the Investment Management division. Tom joined Morgan Stanley in January 2009 in Hong Kong and relocated to New York in 2011. During his time at the Firm, Tom held several senior positions including leading the Firm’s Volcker implementation, serving as the global Chief Operating Officer for the Compliance Department, global head of Firm Resilience and covering key areas in both the Institutional Securities and Company Compliance functions. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Tom spent over 10 years in management consulting – with PricewaterhouseCoopers and later Diamond Consultants – where he worked in the Capital Markets practices covering a range of clients, including working on several significant Morgan Stanley projects. Tom has an undergraduate degree in Economics from Kenyon College and an MBA from Georgetown University.
