Philip is general counsel for Morgan Stanley Investment Management and a member of the Morgan Stanley Investment Management Operating Committee. In addition, he is co-chair of the Morgan Stanley EMEA Franchise Committee and deputy chair of the Morgan Stanley Global Franchise Committee. Philip previously held similar general counsel roles for Morgan Stanley in Japan and Hong Kong.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2001, Philip was a partner at the law firm Wilde Sapte, where he specialized in litigation and international finance for investment banks and financial institutions. He has over 30 years of financial services law experience.

Philip has a law degree from Leicester University and qualified as a solicitor in England in 1986.
