Biography

John is global head of Real Assets and a member of the Morgan Stanley Investment Management Operating Committee. He was previously co-chief executive officer, co-chief investment officer and head of Americas for Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing until early 2016.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2010, John held senior executive positions in the real estate industry, including co-founder and chief executive officer of Capital Trust, Inc., founder and managing partner of Victor Capital Group, L.P., and managing director and co‐head of Chemical Realty Corporation. He has over 45 years of investing and financial services experience.

John has a BA in economics from Tufts University and an MBA in finance and real estate from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He serves as the chair of Columbia Business School’s Real Estate Advisory Committee and is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association.
